Byers noted for transforming the odor control industry and making it more environmentally sustainable

The brightest minds in the solid waste industry are advancing new solutions that aim to create a safer and more sustainable future.  At MSW Management magazine, these innovators are considered to be the “heroes of the 21st century.”

Each year, the publication offers its Innovator Awards to shine a light on the executives who are truly transforming the industry, and Marc Byers, Founder and President of Byers Scientific, was named a recipient for 2022.

Byers was honored for inventing Byers Scientific’s patented vapor-phase technology, and for designing the firm’s advanced molecular filtration technology. Both solutions were noted for transforming the odor control industry and making it more environmentally sustainable.

The award also highlighted the following:

  • Byers’ Mobile Vapor Systems: This trailer-mounted vapor-phase system is designed for temporary and changing odor-causing conditions. This reduces the need for water tank transportation and more effectively controls odorous gases from reaching surrounding communities by neutralizing at the source.
  • Strategic Partnership with Envirosuite: In April, Byers Scientific announced its strategic partnership with Envirosuite. The partnership allows Byers’ customers to monitor, model and visualize emissions in real-time for making truly informed decisions about odor mitigation strategies, and what equipment is needed to address the odor issue.
  • Intelligent Solutions: The company was also noted for its data-driven emissions analysis and scalable Cloud-based SCADA technology that allows users to remotely monitor and control on-site equipment and systems anytime from anywhere.

In addition to these key aspects about new innovations at Byers Scientific, the company is also advancing new solutions that combine air purification with odor control to improve overall indoor environments.

Through its partnership with Dutch technology firm, VFA Solutions, patented ASPRA® electrostatic precipitation and filtration technology is being integrated into various Byers products, including the MT-Series of molecular filtration systems such as the MT-6A™.
